Indigenous People
If there is someone in your class whose family comes from a Pacific Island (Cook Islands, Fiji, French Polynesia, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Vanuatu etc) then you already know an indigenous person from a coral reef environment.
You may also choose to research indigenous people from Carribean Islands (Antigua, Bahamas, Cuba, Cayman Islands, Dominican Republic, Virgin Islands etc.). The history of these people is very interesting because many of the indigenous people were taken as slaves, but these islands were also the heart of rebellions against slave traders.
